ASA Midwest to host air conditioning technology and service April 16 in Columbia, Mo.

Course to focus on understanding and diagnosing air conditioning systems.


Lee Hammer, an ACDelco trainer, will present a course in emerging air conditioning technology service  on Thursday, April 16 at Bandana's BBQ, 3405 Clark Lane (Highways 63 and 179) in Columbia,  Mo.,announced American Service Association (ASA) Midwest. Dinner and training will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last until 9 p.m.

Cost is $20 for Automotive Service Association members nad $25 for non-members.

This course is designed to help technicians understand and diagnose current air conditioning systems. Focus is on diagnosis of electrical and hardware issues related to the various systems. The seminar will also cover items such as compressor service, oil balancing, sealants, line repair and leak detection. In addition, the latest scan tools and CAN data communication involving compressor operation and module reprogramming will be covered. New technologies will be discussed such as R134a replacements (R152a, R744, HFO-1234YF) and regulations such as SAE J2788 R/R/R machines as well as other SAE regulations. Clutchless compressors and high voltage hybrid compressors will also be covered.
