Bosch M-VCI updated with more coverage

Features enhanced Volvo, Toyota and Chrysler coverage.

Bosch's updated Mastertech VCI (M-VCI) scan tool with its powerful ESI[tronic] 2.0 diagnostic software, has expanded its support for Volvo, Toyota and Chrysler vehicles, adding to its comprehensive, in-depth vehicle coverage. ESI[tronic] 2.0 complements the scan tool's Shop Foreman Pro software.

"M-VCI's software powerhouse provides an unparalleled aftermarket diagnostic and service resource for multiple vehicles, from one common interface. And the inclusion of new Volvo, Toyota and Chrysler support adds to the system's capability," said Ravi Subramanyan, Senior Product Manager for Bosch Diagnostics Business Unit.

"The scan tool's dynamic ESI[tronic] 2.0 diagnostic software features extensive coverage for Domestic, Asian – including Korean – and European vehicles, while the Mastertech Shop Foreman Pro Scan Test software provides coverage for 1996 and newer Asian and Domestic vehicles."

New and exciting functions and systems that have been added for Volvo, Toyota and Chrysler include:

  • Volvo: Special functions support includes EVAP, TPMS, alternator function, automatic A/C, read/clear DTCs and PIDs
  • Toyota/Lexus/Scion
  • New Module Status functionality for CAN Multiplexed Network
  • New system with Read/Clear DTCs, PIDs, and Actuators for various systems like Theft Deterrent System,
  • Chrysler/Dodge: New system with Read/Clear DTCs, PIDs, and Actuators for Park Distance Control system

M-VCI has also added tool support for the "KTS Get Connected kit," which allows the ability to connect and diagnose older non OBD II compliant vehicles via ESI[tronic] 2.0. In addition to aftermarket diagnostics, M-VCI also supports OEM diagnostics by supporting General Motors Tech2Win and the BMW ISTA apps. In addition to diagnostics, M-VCI can perform ECU reprogramming thru J2534 for General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Nissan, BMW and Mini vehicles.

Bosch also offers technical support to its customers via a technical hotline, and a free one-year diagnostic software subscription with the purchase of the M-VCI scan tool. The software covers domestic vehicles such as Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, and Asian vehicles such as Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Scion, Acura and Infiniti, and European vehicles such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Volvo, Volkswagen, and Smart Car.
