Alliance AutoGas network goes international

Welcomes new Canadian partner Caledon Propane

The Alliance AutoGas network is expanding service to international fleets with new Canadian partner Caledon Propane. Caledon will help fleets in the Canadian Provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba to reduce both their fuel costs and greenhouse gas emissions by running vehicles on clean, cost-effective propane autogas.

"We're thrilled to bring the Alliance AutoGas complete program to Canada to meet growing fleet demand for this practical and affordable alternative fuel solution," says Caledon Propane Vice President Hugh Sutherland Jr. "Alliance really takes the guesswork out of switching to autogas because we coordinate everything for fleets, from vehicle conversions, to fueling solutions, to safety training, and even ongoing technical support."

Alliance AutoGas already partners with the international alternative fuel technology experts at Netherlands-based Prins to provide the bi-fuel Prins Vapor Sequential Injection (VSI) system for reliable autogas conversions. Caledon is the first propane fueling partner outside the U.S., enabling Alliance to provide its exclusive complete program to Canadian fleets for the first time.

"Welcoming Caledon Propane to the Alliance AutoGas partner network is an important step in continuing to grow the propane autogas market across North America," says Stuart Weidie, president of Alliance AutoGas and founder of Autogas for America. "Through the new Alliance presence in Canada, businesses and public fleets can make the switch to clean, economical autogas for little-to-no upfront cost and start saving on fuel costs right away."

Propane autogas is the most widely used alternative fuel in the world, powering 18 million vehicles globally. The Alliance AutoGas partner network of international propane marketers and conversion centers is experiencing tremendous growth, currently spanning 40 states, Washington D.C., and now the Provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba in Canada.

Autogas fleets currently save around $1.50 per gallon on fuel compared to gasoline, and Alliance AutoGas offers funding options that enable fleets to switch to autogas at no upfront cost. Propane autogas is also 30 percent cleaner than gasoline, which means vehicles produce significantly fewer harmful pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions.

Based in Bolton, ON, just outside Toronto, Caledon Propane has served Canadian communities with clean, efficient propane fuel for residential, commercial, agricultural and automotive needs since 1976. Like many Alliance AutoGas partners, Caledon is a family-owned company that brings years of propane fueling experience to the Alliance network. Visit www.caledonpropane.com for more information.
