Propane autogas alliance sees growth amidst rising gas prices

Alliance AutoGas welcomes new fueling partners Maine Energy and Parker Gas.

Alliance AutoGas is continuing to expand its national partner network, welcoming new fueling partners Maine Energy of Bangor, Maine, and Parker Gas of Clinton, N.C. In the face of skyrocketing gasoline prices, more American fleets are making the switch to clean, affordable propane autogas through comprehensive resources and guidance from Alliance AutoGas.

“I know a lot of local fleets have been hit hard by gasoline prices climbing toward $4 per gallon,” said Robert Cort, president of Maine Energy, which is also a new certified Alliance conversion center. “We’re pleased to offer a clean-burning, cost-effective fuel as part of the Alliance AutoGas program. And because we coordinate every step of the conversion process, including installing on-site autogas stations at no up-front cost, fleets can start saving from day one with reduced fuel prices and maintenance needs.”

Like Maine Energy, Parker Gas joined Alliance AutoGas to help fleets cut fuel costs while ensuring clean air for the community.

“Joining Alliance has allowed us to be a part of a program that’s changing the way Americans drive, one fleet at a time,” said Daren Parker of Parker Gas. “Running more vehicles on American-made alternative fuel is not only better for the environment, it’s the best way to avoid high gasoline prices by using a more affordable energy source.”

Propane autogas is the most widely used alternative fuel in the world, powering 17 million vehicles globally, and 90 percent of the U.S. autogas supply is made in America. With average savings of more than $1 per gallon than gasoline, autogas also burns cleaner and significantly reduces harmful pollutants. Fleets driving propane vehicles report reduced maintenance costs,  increased engine life and equivalent power to gasoline vehicles.

“Expensive gasoline is a problem that is not going away, and the only solution is giving people fuel options other than gasoline and diesel,” said Alliance AutoGas President Stuart Weidie. “Clean fuel adoption in America starts with fleets; as they demand more alternative fuel vehicles and filling stations, the infrastructure will grow to benefit drivers nationwide. New partners like Maine Energy and Parker Gas are helping Alliance spread awareness and availability of propane autogas across the U.S.”
