TMC names recognized associates, honors study group secretary

American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council named three industry suppliers as Cirilo “Lilo” Hurtado, application engineer for Mobil Delvac; Rod McNulty, regional service manager for Peterbilt Motors; Ed Smith, national accounts manager for Webb Wheel Products, as Recognized Associates during its 2012 Annual Meeting, Feb. 20-23 in Tampa, Fla.

Hurtado, Bolingbrook, Ill., has been a TMC member since 2005. He has been a valuable contributor to the S.3 Engines Study Group as its secretary, moderator and presenter for technical presentations, and as an active participant in creation of TMC recommended practices.

McNulty, Horsham, Pa., has been a TMC member since 2000. He has served on the Meeting Mechanics and Sergeant-at-Arms committees and supported the S.3 Engines and the S.6 Chassis and Brake Systems study groups in various roles.

Smith, Weston, Va., has been a TMC member since 2003. He has been active in the S.3 Engines Study Group, the Member Outreach Committee and serves as a TMC Mentor.

The award is presented for outstanding contributions to the improvement of equipment, its maintenance and maintenance management, and support of Council activities.

Brian Mandt, engineering supervisor for Donaldson Co., was presented TMC’s Study Group Secretary Award for his oversight of task force activity for the Future Truck Committee.

Mandt, Bloomington, Minn., has served as a study group secretary since 2008, the year he joined TMC. In addition to his dedication to the transportation industry, He is a major in the Minnesota Air National Guard 148^th Fighter Wing and has served two tours in Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Tony Tierney, chairman of Study Group secretaries, said the dedication to TMC by this recipient is evident through his devotion to accuracy and timeliness in recording of Future Truck Committee activities in addition to ready assistance in Committee matters as needed.
