TRW Commercial Steering Systems – a division of TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., a leader in commercial steering systems and automotive safety systems – is building on its long history of leadership in the OEM supply industry. TRW, which offers complete commercial steering systems and steering components for medium and heavy duty, on/off highway vehicles, will mark its official expansion into the North American heavy duty independent aftermarket at the 2012 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week conference at The Mirage Convention Center starting Jan. 23.

TRW's expansion into the independent heavy-duty aftermarket will allow distributors to receive supply directly from TRW without having to rely on additional channels of distribution.

"Our focus on expanding channels of distribution through the independent heavy-duty aftermarket provides our end customers with additional supply channel options and enables them to receive the high quality products and services they require from leading, trusted distributors – maximizing vehicle uptime," said John M. Nielsen, Vice President and General Manager, North America Parts and Service, TRW Automotive.

TRW has already established relationships with major distributors and is currently working to partner with additional ones. As a proven industry leader, TRW is proud to partner with the independent aftermarket to supply quality original equipment parts and components that deliver excellent performance and reliability.

Distributors will stock and sell TRW remanufactured steering gear assemblies, which are not rebuilt but completely remanufactured to OEM grade specifications with original TRW components and tested to meet TRW's stringent production requirements.

TRW Heavy Duty Aftermarket will have a major presence at HDAW 2012, serving as an event sponsor and exhibitor. TRW executives will be on hand and accessible to journalists. At the company's exhibit booth, some of the products, technologies and concepts to be showcased include:

  • TRW Genuine Remanufactured Steering Gears
  • Power Steering Pumps
  • Steering Gear Seal Kits
  • Linkage
  • TRW Heavy Duty Steering System

TRW will continue to partner with OEM's providing an expanded product portfolio of proprietary components specific to each OEM.

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week is the largest North American gathering of the independent heavy-duty industry. More than 1,700 managers and executives from 17 countries – including distributors, manufacturers, service providers, educators and media – attended the 2011 conference in Las Vegas.

HDAW is a distributor-focused business conference. It was created by the industry's leading trade associations and marketing groups with a long-term goal of consolidating the many annual events on the industry calendar and to create the most valuable annual event for the heavy duty aftermarket.
