Alliance AutoGas, through conversion equipment provider and co-founding partner American Alternative Fuel, is now EPA-certified to convert more than 200 vehicle types to propane autogas utilizing the Prins System.
American Alternative Fuel privately funded these Environmental Protection Agency certifications to ensure fleet owners and managers nationwide can choose from a wide variety of vehicle makes and models when converting to clean-burning autogas.
The additions will make the Alliance AutoGas complete program an immediate fit for more fleets.
New certifications include the latest model years for the popular Ford Crown Victoria and E-series vans, and additional certifications for several medium duty GM platforms. With more than 200 eligible vehicles, this is the largest privately financed portfolio of autogas vehicle certifications in the U.S.
“Alliance AutoGas is dedicated to serving America’s fleets by continually expanding our EPA-certified vehicle options,” says Stuart Weidie, president of Alliance AutoGas and founder of Autogas for America. “Our partners have worked hard to achieve such an extensive portfolio and we’re proud to have reached this milestone, without government or industry underwriting.”
Fleets running on autogas see savings on both fuel and maintenance costs, he says. Autogas is an average of $1.25 per gallon less than gasoline, and many Alliance AutoGas fleets report reduced maintenance needs and increased vehicle engine life after shifting to autogas.
In addition to the cost-savings benefits of autogas, it is also a clean-burning fuel that is 90 percent domestically produced.
Alliance AutoGas provides both bi-fuel and propane-dedicated conversions using Prins vapor and liquid injection technology. The bi-fuel Prins VSI system gives drivers peace of mind because vehicles automatically switch back to gasoline if the autogas tank runs low when a fueling station cannot be reached.
“We are extremely excited about this achievement in our already diverse portfolio of EPA-certified vehicle models,” says Matt Sgambettera, president of American
Alternative Fuel, which is the exclusive U.S. distributor of the Prins System.
“Now more than ever, we are able to effectively serve public and private fleets interested in converting their gasoline-powered vehicles to run on environmentally friendly, affordable autogas.”

“Not only is Alliance AutoGas America’s only complete program for fleets to shift to autogas, we can now work with more vehicle types than anyone else in the country,” says Weidie. “Autogas is a smart choice for fleets, and with the Alliance complete program, it’s an easy choice.”
