Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) is pleased to announce that David White of Parkside High School in Salisbury, Md. has been named the 2011 AYES/ASE Instructor of the Year. The award was presented at the ASE Technician Awards Dinner in Charlotte, NC on November 16th. White has been an instructor for 25 years and holds a Masters equivalency in Career and Technical Education.
“We are fortunate to have such an outstanding individual as David preparing our students for what has become a very high-tech career in automotive service,” said Chuck Roberts, AYES President & CEO. “His dedication to his students and our industry represents a commitment to excellence that represents the best in career and technical education.”
White resides in Willards, Md., with his wife, Pamela and has two grown daughters— Kristin and Nicole. He was named AYES Instructor of the Year in 2007 and received the ASE/ACTE National Secondary Automotive Program of the Year award in 2001 and 2007. “I’ve been an automotive technician for 39 years,” said White. “Through my work as a teacher, I have been given an opportunity to share my knowledge, skills and experience with my students, helping to create a better future for them. There is no better feeling than seeing that look on a student’s face when they accomplish something they never thought was possible.”
