A Philadelphia repair shop owner and another technician were taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after a vehicle fell off a hydraulic lift onto them.
Fifty-eight-year-old John Brown, owner of John Brown Custom Bent Exhaust in Renfrew, Pa., and another worker police didn't identify were injured at 10:45 AM last Thursday. The shop is about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh.
According to local police, when the lift failed, the vehicle slid off of the lift, driver's side first. The vehicle's owner was able to move it enough for another technician to put a jack under the vehicle. A chain was then used to lift the car off Brown and the other technician.
The officer says both were flown to Allegheny General Hospital, but expected to survive.
