A suspected drunken driver smashed into female pop artist Katy Perry's bright, gold 18-wheeler and then returned to the scene without pants as police were taking a report in Wilkes-Barre, Penn.

It wasn't a great "Last Friday Night" for a vehicle promoting pop singer Katy Perry's new album, "Prism," in the Wilkes-Barre Township of Pennsylvania.

A suspected drunken driver smashed into the bright, gold 18-wheeler near Walmart in Wilkes-Barre Township and then fled the scene in his own tractor-trailer, police said.

The driver, Donald Charles Voight, 56, of Springfield, Va., returned to the scene without pants as police were taking a report, nearly hitting a police car several times and telling officers with slurred speech that, "I'm really bad. I've been drinking," according to a police affidavit.

The incident happened in the Walmart parking lot about 5:30 p.m. Friday when Mark Alan Sager reported a tractor-trailer struck his own and then fled the scene.

The truck is part of a promotional tour for Perry's forthcoming album, "Prism," which is due out Oct. 22. The pop star, who was named Billboard's 2012 Woman of the Year, indicated on her Twitter feed the golden truck with her name on the side was stopping at Niagara Falls, N.Y., the day it was hit.

"The (@)prism semi is bumped & bruised but she is a champion!" Perry wrote. "She will return."

Fellow pop star Lady Gaga, in reference to unreleased songs by Perry and herself being leaked over the weekend, tweeted her support.

"Wanna grab some shovels and (expletive) up some hackers?" Gaga wrote. "@katyperry excited to hear your ROAR, sorry to hear about your truck!"

"Roar" is the title of Perry's leaked single.

A witness who was in the truck at the time, Kyle James Salazar, told police he honked the truck's horn about 10 times after being hit by a full-sized Kenworth with Virginia plates but the driver kept going. He chased the truck on foot, getting a license plate number and description, police said.

As police were investigating the crash, a truck matching the suspect's description returned to the scene. Police stopped the truck, which hit a landscaping island before backing up and nearly hitting a police car several times, according to the affidavit.

The driver, Voight, told police he had been drinking and said he could not get out of the cab because he was not wearing pants, police said.

As he tried to dress himself, he fell over in the cab and told officers he drank a half bottle of vodka, the affidavit says.

Police say Voight had slurred speech, an unsteady gait, glossy, bloodshot eyes and reeked of alcohol. He was taken to Wilkes-Barre General hospital to submit a blood sample for alcohol testing.

Police charged him with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to stop and provide his information.

Magisterial District Judge Michael Dotzel arraigned Voight on Friday night and released him on $10,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing was set for 1 p.m. Aug. 21.
