Thieves nuts for peanuts

Three charged in connection with thefts of trailers loads of peanuts.

Three people have been charged in connection to the theft of peanut trailers valued at more than $40,000 from different locations in Houston County.

On Tuesday, Thomas Warren Tabor, 28, of Dothan, was arrested by the Houston County Sheriff's Office and was charged with first and second-degree theft of property. He is being held in the Houston County Jail on $7,500 bail.

Along with Tabor, the sheriff's office arrested Keith Allen Holland, 47, and Amanda Gail Hall, 47, both of Slocomb, and charged them with second-degree receiving stolen property. Both are being held on $2,500 bail.

The sheriff's office investigation revealed the thefts of peanut trailers in Ashford, Cowarts, and Madrid. Evidence led investigators to the three people who have been charged.

The investigation continues and more charges are expected.
