The Automotive Service Assocation (ASA) - Midwest recently sent out a message to its members encouraging those shop owners to educate themselves on health insurance options for their business.
The association encouraged shop owners to get in touch with their health care provider.
The message states:
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010. Several government studies show the vast majority of business owners, such as ASA members, will continue to provide an employer-sponsored health insurance benefit for their employees. Discontinuing this benefit could adversely impact each member's ability to attract the necessary talent to compete in the marketplace.
Since many of the rules relating to implementation of ACA are still being developed, members will need assistance to sort out how health reform impacts each of them on an individual basis. These are exactly the times that it is critical to work with an insurer who is knowledgeable about your business and the health care law - and is ready to offer solutions.

ASA has also encouraged members to contact the association's recommended group health insurance carrier, Federated Insurance. "Federated Insurance, has recently developed a strategy for small employer accounts (50 or fewer employees) to change their plan year and renew their coverage on December 1, 2013."
