White River Transportation announces launch of social media site

Dec. 15, 2011
New website also launched as part of company's new brand positioning

White River Transportation, an agent of Time Dispatch Services Inc., has announced a number of new initiatives designed to keep pace with its steady growth coupled with a brand launch that for the first time brings the White River name front and center, supported by a new website and the company's foray into social media.

"We've been fortunate to have loyal customers - as well as new ones - that have allowed us to continue to thrive," said owner and founder Dick Johnston. "Our success has come as a result of a strong team and we're hoping as we enter this new phase that some great people will be joining us." He added.

Short-term loans to truck driving school grads for truck purchases

The Burr Ridge, Illinois-based company, which was founded in 2001, has seen steady growth in what has been an otherwise sluggish economy in the last several years. Strong business has meant a need for continuous recruitment, resulting in creative programs designed to lure top candidates. The latest of these is an initiative offering a $5,000 down payment in the form of a short-term loan to top students at designated truck driving schools to help with a truck purchase.

New website and social media launch connects drivers, customers, prospects

As the company enters its latest growth phase, it is rebranding itself as White River Transportation after previously operating primarily under the banner of its parent company, Time Dispatch of Heber City, Utah. Along with the rebranding is the launch of a new website at www.whiterivertransportation.com and a social media presence to include a Facebook page, Twitter profile and LinkedIn company page. White River plans to use these tools as a way to communicate with existing and prospective drivers and customers.

Technology integrated into drivers' routines to improve productivity, customer service

Improvements are also being implemented for White River's current team of drivers, who have all been issued in-cab scanning and printing capabilities, as well as access to White River's intercompany email system, allowing communications with drivers like never before. This system helps increase productivity as it cuts down on driver call-in frequency, as drivers will no longer have to stop to have paperwork printed or faxed to and from the home office. This feature will greatly improve customer service by providing customers with vital paperwork within a very short time frame.

Signing bonus, referral program and benefits continue in an effort to attract new drivers

As it has done for several years, White River continues its attractive signing package, which it provides to new drivers after 90 days on the job, as well as a $500 referral bonus to those who refer new drivers. In addition, White River offers some industry leading benefits, including:

• Steady work year round and 50% drop and hook
• No wait reloads and work within a 500 mile radius of Chicago
