Goodyear's fleetHQ goes for the 'Gold'

Sept. 28, 2011
With new retread tire program

In the trucking business, where efficient cost-per-mile operating performance can lead straight to success, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has come up with a new “gold standard.”

The Gold Medallion Retread Tire Program offers cost-effective, quality retreaded tires for emergency road service from coast-to-coast. Gold Medallion retreads meet the premium casing standards of large national fleets and are backed by the Goodyear Retreaded Tire Limited Warranty.

Bruce Woodruff, director, business solutions marketing, Goodyear Commercial Tire Systems, said Gold Medallion Retreaded Tires are recognized for benefits, such as:

- Offering a quality, cost-effective alternative to new tires.

- Meeting the premium retread specs of large national fleets by wheel position

- Providing popular on-highway sizes and treads coast to coast through fleetHQ dealers.

“Gold Medallion helps deliver a lower-cost option for fleets of all sizes, and the savings don’t stop with the tire purchase,” he said. “Fleets can avoid the need to replace a new tire with a retread once the truck returns to the terminal, and they have the right tread for the wheel position, which helps improve performance and cost-per-mile.”

To display authenticity, Gold Medallion retreads are branded with a “Gold” emblem on the side of the tread directly above the tire’s DOT number.

Only Tier 1 casings - Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone and Dunlop - qualify for the program.

Gold Medallion retreaded tires are available throughout the U.S. and Canada through the fleetHQ network of servicing dealers.

fleetHQ offers an array of portfolio of business solutions designed to help fleets of every size, and owner operators, reduce their operating cost. These solutions include road services, plus online information systems providing 24/7 access to services in progress, retread history, repair data and tire purchase histories, as well .

Popular tread designs for Gold Medallion retreads are available - including the Goodyear G305 AT LHD Fuel Max, G316 LHT Fuel Max and G182 RSD - and in these sizes: 295/75R22.5, 285/75R24.5, 275/80R22.5, 275/80R24.5, 11R22.5 and 11R24.5.
