Transaxle acquires New England Transmission

Manufacturer will now offer 21 branches in Eastern U.S.

Transaxle announced the acquisition of New England Transmission, a regional remanufacturer of light duty transmissions with locations in Portland, Maine and Bangor, Maine.

Transaxle entered the light duty transmission market several years ago. This acquisition will help enhance Transaxle’s manufacturing capability in light duty transmissions.

The company will add two new branch locations to its existing network, for a total of 21 branches along the Eastern seaboard.

The entire New England Transmission Team, led by Mark Pelkey, former owner of New England Transmission, will be joining the Transaxle Team. Pelkey will take on the role of General Manager – Light Duty Transmission.

During a transition phase, the company will be known as New England Transmission, powered by Transaxle.
