On the KTS 340 Diagnostic Tool System

Robert Bosch LLC has announced that it is backing its recently introduced KTS 340 diagnostic tool with a 10-year limited warranty on parts and labor, demonstrating the company’s confidence in the durability and reliability of this state-of-the-art diagnostic tool.

The KTS 340 is an advanced diagnostic and service tool, introduced in mid-2010, designed specifically for use in the North American automotive service market, and is available throughout North America.

“This warranty far exceeds anything else offered in the aftermarket,” said Ruediger Hirschmann, KTS Product Manager for Bosch Diagnostic Business Unit. “Most equipment manufacturers offer only a one-year warranty, with an additional year possible in certain instances.

”This 10-year warranty on the Bosch KTS 340 covers all components except normal wear or replacement items, like back-up batteries, which are inexpensive and readily available from retailers everywhere. All the shop owner needs to do to maintain the warranty coverage is to continue his subscription to ESI[tronic] database updates and not physically damage or abuse the tool. Otherwise the warranty covers all parts and labor,” Hirschmann said.

Should a problem occur while the tool is under warranty, the shop owner or technician need only call a special KTS 340 toll-free support number. A specialist from Bosch Diagnostics Business Unit will discuss the problem in detail and determine the best solution to resolve the problem quickly.

If the Bosch specialist determines that a hardware problem exists and cannot be resolved with software modifications, a complete replacement KTS diagnostic tool will be shipped directly to the repair shop. If that is determined before 2 pm, the replacement unit will be shipped that same business day, otherwise the next business day. The whole process just couldn’t be easier.

The Bosch KTS 340 provides rapid and reliable diagnosis of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles utilizing Bosch’s globally-sourced ESI[tronic] database to quickly and easily acquire and display the most current relevant automotive data.

“The KTS 340 is an extremely strong and reliable diagnostic tool built to provide many years of service in auto repair shops throughout North America,” said Hirschman. “The shop’s subscription to our ESI[tronic] database assures that this tool will be current and efficient for many years. And we are so confident in the design, materials, and construction that we feel confident we are offering the best-in-the-industry warranty coverage so the shop owner and technicians using it never have to worry about the tool’s performance or any associated cost should a problem occur.”

“The KTS 340, supported by our extraordinary 10-year parts and service warranty, is tangible evidence of our intention to fully support our repair shop partners, in a comprehensive program of product and support we refer to as Parts & Bytes,” Hirschmann said.
