Kenworth ride and drive event

While on assignment in early August for a Kenworth Truck ride-and-drive event in Mount Vernon, WA, Fleet Maintenance Editor David A. Kolman had the opportunity to drive a variety of the truck manufacturer's latest new products. These included the T680 Advantage configuration that offers maximum fuel efficiency; other models of the T680 tractor, including a T680 with a factory-installed Cummins Westport ISX12 G natural gas engine; plus several versions of its Kenworth’s vocational truck, the T880. The diesel-powered vehicles had Paccar MX-13 engines in an assortment of horsepower and torque ratings, and automatic, automated and manual transmissions.
