PDA-based Otto Diagnostic software

June 25, 2007
Baum Tools has made available their PDA-based Otto Diagnostic software for automotive repair. Baum feels using the upgradeable Pocket PC platform provides competitive processor speeds, memory capacities and high-resolution color screens at prices that more affordable than some big-ticket scan tools. Baum recommends the Dell Axim X5, but states that Otto Diagnostic products will work on most Pocket PC handheld devices. OBD II and CAN-compliant software is currently available for Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW vehicles.
