Hub Alert heat sensing label

Product From Spectra Products Inc.

The Spectra Products Hub Alert heat sensing label is an inexpensive product alerting maintenance staff to overheating wheel-ends. The Hub Alert label has a hermetically sealed heat sensor that turns black at 250 degrees F, indicating the need for a detailed inspection of the wheel end. The high-tech label adhesive keeps Hub Alert on plastic, aluminum and steel surfaces in extreme cold and hot temperatures and resists high-pressure water spraying. Hub Alert is preventative medicine for overheating brakes, bearings and related issues. Hub Alert provides an alert to the second most common cause of wheel separation, bearing failure.

Brake Safe brake stroke indicator system

Product From Spectra Products Inc.

Spectra Products' Brake Safe is an inexpensive, easy-to-install visual brake stroke indicator system for power units and trailers. It protects against heavy fines for out-of-adjustment brakes and helps to ensure maximum braking capability. Brake Safe's design permits a fast and accurate visual inspection that takes the guesswork out of air brake adjustments and eliminates the need to crawl under the truck or trailer to mark and measure brake adjustment. This product helps fleets protect their CSA safety record.

Early Warning System

Product From Spectra Products Inc.

Spectra Products’ Hub Alert is a heat sensing label that functions as an early warning system to alert drivers and maintenance personnel to above normal wheel end operating temperature. This normal operating temperature of wheel hub oil or grease should not exceed 225ºF. Wheel end manufacturers recommend a detailed inspection if temperatures reach 250ºF to address potential seal and bearing problems. The Hub Alert will turn black permanently when the temperature reaches 250ºF, alerting that further inspection is required. After inspection, a new Hub Alert label is applied to the wheel hub to continue the early warning temperature alert. The Hub Alert thermosensitive area is hermetically sealed against moisture, oil, grease, fuels, water and steam.

Zafety Lug Lock

Product From Spectra Products Inc.

The Zafety Lug Lock system helps prevent lug nut loosening, wheel damage and potential wheel loss by securing two adjacent wheel nuts together to minimize their ability to rotate and loosen. This design, along with a pre-engineered blend of high-tech thermoplastic resins, provides a high strength-to-weight ratio that retains its flexibility. The system has been proven effective in independent testing. Zafety Lug Lock excels in extreme operating environments, says the company, including chemical exposures and temperature ranges. The system provides a clear visual check of lug nut security and is available in Standard and High Temperature formulations for severe braking applications.
