Electric helmets with fire and speed Miller Electric Manufacturing Co. recently introduced the Motorsports and Fire Storm designs to its Performance Series line of auto-darkening welding helmets. The Motorsports helmet features a yellow background accented with red and green tear-aways and checkered flag graphics on all four sides. The Fire Storm sports a black background with yellow and red flames along the front, sides and top. Other features include:
The Vintage USA design of the Elite and Digital helmets celebrates Miller's and the U.S.A.'s shared history through a compelling and bold design, while providing users with an auto-darkening response time of 1/20,000 of a second. The Elite version provides an auto-on/auto-off and grind mode, while the Digital Elite includes four programmable modes for grinding, welding, cutting and an electromagnetic mode for use when the sensors may be obstructed.
Miller Electric Mfg. Co. announced that its EnPak truck-integrated, engine-driven generator, air compressor and hydraulic pump now features a standard Auto Start/Stop functionality designed to further reduce fuel consumption, unnecessary EnPak engine idling, noise and emissions. EnPak monitors air and hydraulic loads and automatically shuts down once all loads have been idle for a pre-set time, and can sense air and hydraulic loads, restarting the engine when needed. Control pre-set times between two and 30 minutes. Auto Start/Stop further monitors the truck battery voltage and automatically starts EnPak’s engine when it senses that charging is required. This allows operation of 12V accessories such as LED lights and small inverters to be run with the EnPak off.
Pulsed MIG system optimizes aluminum welding Miller Electric's Millermatic 350P all-in-one MIG/Pulse MIG welder, combined with the 25-ft. air-cooled XR-Aluma-Pro gun, provides superior 4000- and 5000-series aluminum feeding and welding performance. The 350P also has wire-specific programs that maintain the optimal peak, background and pulse width parameters to extend tip life and increase the time between tip replacement. The system comes with reversible .035"-3/64" u-groove drive rolls and a Teflon intermediate guide.
Miller's Trailblazer engine-driven welder/generators, Nos. 275 and 325, feature technology that reduces fuel use by about 35 percent, increasing run times as much as 50 percent. Smart-Cor technology provides independent weld and generator power, ensuring no interaction between the welding arc and other tools. Welder/generators without this capability can cause fluctuations in the welding arc when a load is simultaneously applied to the generator. Auto-Speed technology automatically adjusts the engine speed to run at lower speeds determined by the load applied to the machine. Whereas other comparable welder/generators operate at 3,600 rpm at all times, the Trailblazer series varies its output based on demand.
The Miller CoolBand is an integrated headgear cooling system that optimizes airflow under the hood, making it up to 8 degrees F cooler while welding. Strategically placed air vents help reduce glasses fogging, and constant air movement helps remove stagnant air. This system includes an oversized, conveniently located 'power' button. Lightweight Lithium Polymer rechargeable battery delivers maximum battery life. A removeable air deflector provides air direction adjustability. Compatible with most Miller helmets.
Miller Electric Mfg. Co.'s Wildcat 200 welder-generator provides industrial quality welding performance, durability and generator power in a compact, lightweight and affordable package. A fully enclosed case protects the 14-hp Subaru engine and internal welding components from damage by falling objects, dust and debris. The unit is capable of producing 6,500 watts of peak generator power and 200-amp DC Stick and TIG welding output. At 345 pounds, the Wildcat 200 is more than 150 pounds lighter and 30 percent smaller than competitive models.
Miller's FILTAIR 130 fume extractor provides compact, portable filtration to shops with intermittent welding operations. The FILTAIR 130 comes with a standard 8' collection hose; also available are optional 17'- and 34' hoses.
Miller Electric Mfg. Co. introduces EnPak™ Mechanic Series—the world’s only truck-integrated, diesel engine-driven air compressor, generator and hydraulic pump. EnPak’s 27-HP Kubota diesel engine eliminates the need for a PTO and integrates seamlessly into its electrical and fuel systems, allowing mechanics to run all their tools with the truck turned off. This lowers fuel costs up to 30 percent, reduces truck engine hours up to 60 percent, lowers truck noise by as much as 10 dB and substantially reduces exhaust fumes in the work area.
Miller Electric Mfg. Co. introduces the new All-Purpose Running Gear for its Bobcat® and Trailblazer® welding generators. The new running gear features an extended wheelbase, extra-heavy-duty front casters and 1-in.-diameter axles for increased ruggedness and maneuverability over a variety of terrains. Optional Never-Flat Tires eliminate a potential source of costly job downtime, and can pay for themselves with the cost of one saved service call.
