You never know who you will run into at a truck show

Whenever I walk a truck show, I inevitably run into people I know. That is yet one more benefit of attending these events.

I also always end up with sore feet from all the walking.

Someday I’m going to strap on a pedometer to see just how many miles I traverse.

I’m certain I wore out the most show leather at this year’s Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), which took place recently Louisville, KY.
MATS’ 1,070 exhibitors were spread out over the 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space.

That’s a lot of ground to cover in the three days that the show runs.

According to the show’s organizer, the annual show set an all-time attendance record, with nearly 81,000 attendees.

Among those attendees was Bibendum, also known as Mr. Bib or the Michelin Man - the corporate symbol of one of the world's largest tire manufacturers, Michelin.

I knew that the Michelin Man is not a big talker.

I was surprised to learn that he is a discriminating reader.
