March 13, 2015
Smet used the 11-pc 30-degree Knuckle Pivoting Bit Holder while performing dashboard work on numerous Toyota models.

The Milwaukee Tool Shockwave Impact Duty 11-pc 30-degree Knuckle Pivoting Bit Holder allows users to drive fasteners and drill holes in tight, difficult work areas. Its compact design locks at a 0-degree or 30-degree angle and is designed for use with Shockwave Impact Duty 1/4” hex accessories. This tool can handle up to 2,000 in/lbs of torque. The 30-degree Knuckle, made from proprietary steel and heat treated to control hardness, offers a geometric shock-absorption zone to extend life. Ten Shockwave Impact Duty insert bits are included, and this tool can be used with Shockwave Impact Duty Insert Magnetic Nut Drivers (1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2").

The Review

Pete Smet, a technician at Le Mieux & Son Toyota in Green Bay, Wis., recently reviewed Milwaukee Tool’s Shockwave 11-pc 30-Degree Knuckle Pivoting Bit Holder. He said that this tool was easy to use and that little setup was involved. He only needed to “plug-n-play” to begin.

Smet liked that he was able to use the bit holder with an impact drill or driver, and he adds, “I was able to (use) a power impact in places I couldn’t previously.”

Smet used the Shockwave 11-pc 30-degree Knuckle Pivoting Bolt Holder while performing dashboard work on numerous Toyota models. He says the tool “also helped me reach screws on a 4.7L V8 Toyota engine while servicing the timing belt.” In this particular application, the tool saved him 20 minutes.

Even though Smet hasn’t used a previous version of this tool, he says that the included manual was easy to understand and he didn’t have any concerns about the tool that weren’t answered. He also says that the packaging showcased the tool well.

The only way that Smet could think to improve or add to this tool is to offer different lengths for the bits.

“I can use this bit set with an impact driver or drill,” he says adding, “It took all the abuse I could give it.” On a scale of one to 10, Smet gave this tool a 10 as he was “very impressed with this tool set.”
