The Rotary Lift Tech Lights Series offers powerful lighting options that can be adapted to meet a variety of service bay needs. Each light comes with mounting clips that are magnetic, so the lights can be set up in a variety of locations without drilling. The Line Light 2, No. FA5701, is a universal, all-in-one lighting solution for two-post lifts and mobile column lifts. These units come supplied with four magnetic mounting clips for positioning of lights exactly where needed, no drilling required. The slim 1” diameter design makes it possible to illuminate even hard-to-reach, compact areas.

The review

Eric Moore of DeMary Truck recently tested the Rotary Lift Tech Lights, No. FA5701, at his Columbus, Ohio-based shop.

Moore employed the lights on a lift to help him locate a leak on a 2001 Nissan Frontier pickup truck and for the replacement of sway bar links bushings.  In addition, he utilized the Rotary Lift Tech Lights for some underhood work.

“It was very nice to have more light while under the vehicle without having to hold a flashlight or find a spot for the corded trouble light,” says Moore.

To set up the Rotary Lift Tech Lights, Moore mounted the power supply, connected wires for each individual light, routed the cords and mounted the lights.

“Once installed, the Rotary Lift Tech Lights were very easy to use, with on/off buttons, for each light fixture,” he says.

Moore immediately recognized and appreciated the additional light provided by the Rotary Lift Tech Lights. He utilized them in tandem with a flashlight for situations requiring more light, and he used magnetic mounts to use the Rotary Lift Tech Lights as a source of underhood illumination.

As for potential improvements, Moore says he wished the instructions “could have been clearer.” He points to the fact that the installation instructions only feature images, with no corresponding text.

“I like to consider myself fairly sharp, but I was confused trying to follow the directions,” says Moore. “I actually hooked up the wiring backwards for the lights. It turns out in Denmark, where the product is assembled, the red wire is for the neutral on AC, not the line we would assume here in the States.”

He also notes that he wished there was some flexibility in terms of the amount of illumination the Rotary Lift Tech Lights provides.

“(They) could benefit from having two or three brightness options,” says Moore. “I can see where the level it is currently at is just enough for most situations, yet not bright enough for others.”

That being said, he has a favorable opinion of the Rotary Lift Tech Lights for its versatility and for the magnetic mounts being movable.

“(They) rate very well at an 8.5,” he adds.
