The Dent Fix Hot Stapler Plastic Repair Kit, No. DF-800BR, is a complete plastic structural repair solution in a box. Used to repair by stitching or stapling rips, tears and breakage on a multitude of plastic parts from bumper to underhood to vehicle interior pieces.

Features and benefits

Dent Fix improved the plastic repair service by increasing efficiency and creating a strong structural repair. After the DF-800BR heats the staple, submerges it into the plastic and into position for the repair, the staple’s prongs that serve as contact points with the tool, need to be removed.

Unlike other staples on the market, Dent Fix’s Breakaway Staples are stainless steel and easily separate without snipping by simply breaking them off. This saves time and effort because when the staple is set properly the staple is broken off below the surface. Dent Fix provides seven types of staple, creating solutions to cover every type of structural repair. To fill the ridges and valleys left behind by the staple, the finishing iron smooths out the surface to strengthen and creates a level surface to sand and apply paint later if needed for body panel work.

Origin

Many body shops and mechanics alike are looking for less expensive alternatives to pricey repairs. More consumers are putting off most repairs and the repair industry is noticing. When shops offer cheaper but “good as fixed” alternatives, it provides new opportunities for shops willing to meet the demand.

The amount of plastic parts automobiles use today is increasing, which means these parts will break or become damaged and need repair. If people only have the resources to get it working again the best solution is to repair not replace because of the cost savings. Shops also experience the added benefit of controlling when the repair is finished, compared to waiting on other supply chain and shipping delays commonly associated with sourcing some OEM parts.

Selling points

The DF-800BR’s main selling features include all-in-one design, one-hand operation, weight of only 1 lbs and LEDs for illumination. The Breakaway Staples are scored so they separate after being set in position, are made of stainless steel and come in seven different versions to satisfy most applications. The kit provides the shop with a complete service to repair and strengthen damaged plastic parts. There is no separate control box that would inhibit freedom of movement or break by falling to ground when extension length is reached.
