Jim Wright is a line tech at Ashville Ford in Ashville, NC. This past summer he took delivery of a new Snap-on tool storage system that sells for over $33,000, but he didn’t spend a dime for it.
Bill Jahn, Jim’s local Snap-on distributor in the Southeast region, dropped his customers’ up-to-date payment cards into a raffle box at the company’s regional tool show last spring, and Jim’s card was chosen as the grand prize winner.
And the grand prize was a 12' long and 8' tall toolbox.
The base is a KERN843B4PU, EPIQ-series 84" roll cab with 19 drawers, offering 53,407 cubic inches of storage space and 8,000 pounds of load capacity. It has a stainless steel top with raised edges and electrical outlets, and the casters ride on torsion spring suspension.
The 30" side lockers (KELN301BLPU and BRPU) each have six drawers, torsion spring casters and 32,835 cubic inches of space. The WorkCenter (KEWN840A0PU) offers 38,924 cubic inches of work space that’s lined with magnetic stainless steel walls. Topping it all off is two Overhead Cabinets, an 84" model (KEHN840B0PU) providing an additional 30,888 cubic inches of storage and a 60-inch model (KEHN600B0PU) with 21,565 cubic inches.
Jim’s favorite tool is his new PH3050A air hammer, although the ‘hutch’ easily holds his 32" flatscreen TV and a laptop computer, and still leaves plenty of room for paperwork too. Jim has been a tech for 11 years. Even though he’s only had the box since August, he says except for the two overhead cabinets, it’s already full.
