CJ-4 Answers

ConocoPhillips has closely worked with the engine builders, additives manufacturers and industry trade organizations in the development of the API CJ-4 standard. We have field tested our CJ-4 candidates in new and old engines using diesel fuel of different sulfur levels to predict long term performance and validate backward compatibility. The efforts are focused on timely introduction of the next-generation products that meet the new standards and serve our customers.

Shawn Ewing began his lubricants career in 1982 with Aminoil USA, and now serves as the technical coordinator for commercial lubricants at ConocoPhillips Lubricants. Ewing is an active member of the Society of Tribologists & Lubrication Engineers and has earned his Certified Lubrication Specialists (CLS™) certificate.
