An Elegy for GM
Even someone from a "Ford family" can feel the loss
For now, I'm hoping that Jim Campbell, Ron Gettelfinger and Governor Granholm haven't misplaced their optimism. Whatever becomes of GM, I have to hope that the things that made it a great company--its skilled, dedicated workforce, its engineering prowess, its modern manufacturing and assembly plants--will someday soon be building something that will make kids stop in their tracks on their way to school and think: "Cool."
