May 23, 2011

The OTC, an SPX brand, Tire Pressure Reset (TPR) Tool with EZ-Sensor Programming, No 3934EZ, allows users to replace broken or damaged OE TPMS sensors without having to struggle through complex relearn procedures. The 3834EZ TPR tool features a bright graphic display and simple navigation buttons. This tool automatically adjusts activation output power to eliminate cross activation of near sensors. The tool set features a TPR handheld tool, EZ-sensor Proximity boot, EZ-sensor software, carrying case, USB cable and user manual. The kit includes six months of updates.

Features and benefits

EZ-sensor Programming allows technicians to program the blank EZ-sensor to fit most vehicle models. It can also clone a broken sensor to avoid relearn process. This enables a user to easily perform TPMS procedures in a more time and cost efficient process; and avoids lengthy and confusing relearn procedures.

The TPR tool interface uses a make-model-year input, which automatically selects the proper sensor communication. Easy user interface and time savings over other TPMS tools. Decreases the amount of time required for the user to activate a sensor. The TPR tool also displays PSI and sensor ID numbers.

The tool communicates via Bluetooth to Genisys family and 3870 TPR tools, and allows the transfer of TPMS sensor information wirelessly. Time savings to users by avoiding having to manually input sensor information on the scan tool.

Origin

Until now, the TPMS service/repair process has been growing more and more complex, with competing sensor standards and complicated, time-consuming relearn procedures. The OTC 3834EZ further streamlines the TPMS service/repair process and serves as a much-needed solution to the ease-of-use and efficiency issues that have made TPMS servicing a challenge for the aftermarket sector.

The EZ-sensor programmable TPMS sensor was developed by Schrader International, Inc. and is the industry’s first programmable TPMS sensor. According to Schrader, the EZ-sensor will cover more than 90 percent of domestic and imported vehicles including a broad range of cars, vans, SUVs, crossovers and light trucks through 2011 model year. Furthermore, parts stores can substantially reduce the number of SKUs required to provide full TPMS coverage.

OTC worked with Schrader to add the EZ-sensor Programming functionality to the 3834 TPR tool. The tool also features a bright graphic display and simple navigation buttons that enable vehicle selection for fast activation---it automatically adjusts activation output power to eliminate cross activation of near sensors. The tool set features an OTC branded TPR handheld tool with Bluetooth dongle for the Genisys, EZ-sensor Proximity boot, EZ-sensor software, carrying case, USB cable and user manual.
