Application

Mayhew Tools Hammerless 3-pc Set, No. 89021, provides multiple tools designed for wood and metal applications, used to mark, cut, start, and set, all without the use of a hammer.

Features and Benefits

  • Allows for precision and accuracy by simply placing the tool on the work surface, pulling back on the spring, and releasing.
  • A safe alternative to using a hammer, avoiding the chance of miss-hits and glancing blows.
  • Prick punch: Scribes lines in metal before cutting or riveting.
  • Pin punch: Drives out and removes already loosened pins and keys.
  • Cold chisel: Cuts rivet heads, mild steel screws, and copper wire.
  • Hammer: A solid steel head used for pounding nails and other fasteners into place.
  • Center punch: Marks, indents, and punches most materials, including mild steel.

Origin

The idea for this product came about because Mayhew wanted to provide a solution in places/applications where it would be difficult or impossible to use a hammer when the user does not enough space to swing it to achieve the desired amount of force to complete the job.

Manufacturing/engineering specifications

The tips are precision CNC machined to the specifications of each tooltip. They’re then roll-knurled and custom heat treated in-house. They all feature a black oxide finish and are assembled by hand. Each set weighs 0.5 lbs.
