ASE Education Foundation congratulates SkillsUSA winners

Students from ASE-accredited programs were among the winners at the recent SkillsUSA competition.

The SkillsUSA competition, held in June in Atlanta, Georgia, saw winners from the ASE-accredited programs.

Winners from the program were recognized at the 2023 SkillsUSA program in the following categories:

  • Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (High School): Rayce Edmondson (Silver) from Chambers County Career Tech Center in Alabama and Aidan Hawkins (Bronze) from North Farmington High School in Michigan. 
  • Automotive Refinishing Technology (High School): Lily Williams (Gold) from Northeast Arkansas Career and Technical Center in Arkansas.
  • Automotive Refinishing Technology (College): Charles Moake (Bronze) from Utah Valley University in Utah. 
  • Automotive Service Technology (High School): William Schimberg (Gold) from Cherry Creek Innovation Campus in Colorado.
  • Automotive Service Technology (College): Nathan Bulthuis (Gold) from Joliet Junior College in Illinois, Spencer Speral (Silver) from Kirkwood Community College in Iowa, and Jared Coffin (Bronze) in Alfred State College-School of Applied Technology in New York. 
  • Collision Repair Technology (High School): Shane Webb (Gold) from Vanguard-Sentinel CTC-Sentinel Campus in Ohio and Lucas Lynch (Silver) from Southwestern Community College in Iowa. 
  • Collision Repair Technology (College): Brandon Nelson (Gold) from Southeast Technical Institute in South Dakota, Seth Christmas (Silver) from Utah Valley University in Utah, and Winferd Vermillion (Bronze) in from Collin College in Texas.
  • Collision Damage Appraisal (High School): Rhett Hylton (Silver) from Spotslyvania Career & Technical Center in Virginia.
  • Collision Damage Appraisal (College): Lauren Lewis (Gold) from Guilford Tech Community College in North Carolina, Jesse Manuel (Silver) from Aims Community College-Windsor in Colorado, and Joseph Lytle (Bronze) from Metropolitan Community College in Nebraska. 
  • Diesel Equipment Technology (College): Cale Mouser (Gold) from North Dakota State College of Science in North Dakota and Brennan McNabb (Bronze) from Ozarks Technical Community College in Missouri.

"We are very proud that so many students from ASE-accredited automotive, collision and truck/diesel programs ranked so high in the recent SkillsUSA competition,” said Mike Coley, president of the ASE Education Foundation. “They have learned skills to enter the workforce as entry-level technicians and are the future of our industry.
