Grote introduces new family of LED side turn lamps

Providing wider range of mounting and connectivity options

Grote Industries, a world leader in high-performance LED lighting technology for the transportation industry, introduced its new family of six side turn lamps today. A variety of mounting designs and connector options make the new lamps unique in the marketplace and suitable for multiple applications including aerodynamic skirts, restricted space between frame rails, and locations where a separate mounting flange is not practical.

The six new LED side turn lamps come in three styles, each with a choice of either male pin or hard shell connectors. The grommet-mount version works well for traditional applications and direct replacement of existing grommet-mount installations. The integrated flange-mount version is low profile, easy to install and comes with a matching mounting pad to absorb stress due to flex from the mounting surface or torque from mounting fasteners. The compact surface-mount version has the smallest footprint, lowest profile and lightest weight, allowing maximum flexibility for all mounting environments.

In addition to enhanced electrical design and functionality, the styling is forward thinking as well. The size and shape of the lamps follow the most up-to-date industrial lighting design trends, including smart, aerodynamic shaping and hidden LED electronic circuitry.

“Grote looked at the expanded applications and mounting environment for the side turn lamp category and realized that there were market needs that were not being adequately addressed,” said Randy Staggs, Grote’s business development manager for signal lighting. “In designing our new side turn family of lamps, we factored in weight reduction, challenging mounting surfaces like aerodynamic side skirts, varying electrical connector styles, the driver’s desire to see the lamp functioning from the cab, and maintaining compliance with SAE recommendations and requirements in all 50 states.”

Grote’s new side turn lamp family has changed the status quo and has brought greater convenience and selection to the vehicle lighting marketplace in the process.

“These lamps represent clever engineering and Grote’s relentless efforts to stay ahead of the curve,” Staggs said.
