We are wrapping up Q2 of 2022, and the PTEN team wanted to take a look back at some of the amazing Big-Time Boxes articles we’ve published so far. With hutches, side cabinets, tool carts, and more to add to your setup, it’s easy to see how a toolbox can go from small-time to big-time.
Which toolbox setup would you want?
3. Jordan Dick, J & J Inc. Trash Services
Jordan Dick hates rooting through his toolbox to find the right tool.
“I don’t like stuff laying on top of stuff,” says Dick, “I want it to be organized, and I don’t want to dig everything out of my box to get something.”
He is getting rid of that problem with his new Iron Giant toolbox from Cornwell. It’s 192” long, 31” deep, and 70” tall, and it replaces the two Platinum Cornwell boxes he had previously.

2. Eric Muir, Brighton Auto Repair & Whitmore Lake Auto Repair
When we last checked in with Eric Muir in 2014, he was the co-owner of Brighton Auto Service with a 21’ long Mac Tools toolbox setup. Now, Muir is the owner of two automotive repair shops – Brighton Auto Repair in Brighton, MI, and Whitmore Lake Auto Repair in Whitmore Lake, MI. He’s also added about another 10’ of toolbox storage to his setup, and that’s not including the second toolbox setup he has at the Whitmore Lake shop.

1. Andrew Kay, Hendrick Honda of Charleston
Kay’s box is the Matco six series triple bay 28” toolbox with a matching Matco JSC770 roll cart. He bought the bottom triple bay in 2015, the top box in 2016, and the side lockers in 2017.
The dark green color on his box is now a rarity as this particular shade (called “green envy”) has been discontinued, as has the textured black (called “crinkle black”) that appears on the box.
“Nobody can ever get my color combo again,” Kay says. “It’s a big eye-catching piece.”
