Tech Tip: Look for features that increase accessibility under the hood

Jan. 10, 2020
Lack of space under the hood makes repairs and maintenance more difficult, as technicians squeeze into tight spaces to access the work area.

Today’s automobiles utilize all available space with new features under the hood. This makes repairs and maintenance more difficult, as technicians squeeze into tight spaces to access the work area. Compact impact wrenches increase access in tight spaces. For example, the Ingersoll Rand W5133 Compact Impact Wrench is just seven inches long and has a unique tapered front end to help technicians complete work quickly. Using a compact impact wrench allows technicians access to spaces where previously only a traditional ratchet or the technician's bare hands would have fit.
